Vida Guerra’s debut album is reaching near mythical status – even with reports of some singles being leaked I still have not heard a single tune. Her album has also undergone a number of title changes. Last I heard it is now going to be a self titled album and will not use the title Trailer Park anymore. Personally, I think this one is a good move as it will give her more opportunities to introduce herself to the public. Trailer Park also has a bit of a negative connotation and we certainly do not want Vida associated with trailer “trash” because she is just too fine to be branded as one.

But even though I myself have not heard or seen it – it looks like other people have (which makes me both sad and frustrated). Vida has a strong following in the latin American countries and it is here where anticipation of her debut album is at its highest. It comes as no surprise then that her debut as a music artist is already earning accolades in this part of the world. In fact, in a recent Telemundo Special, her debut album was already voted as one of the Best New Album Debuts. This is a tall order for a debut album that has not yet even been released yet (the new expected date for when the debut album drops into stores is February 2007).

I do have high hopes for Vida’s debut album and I am anticipating its release. I just hope that there will be no more delays especially since the release date has been moved quite a number of times already.
